For the person with a sweet tooth:
Shane Confectionery — owned by Eric Berley ’03 and located in the heart of Philadelphia, Shane Confectionery has been delighting customers since 1863 and claims to be America’s oldest continuously operating confectionery shop. If you can’t stop by their charming Market Street storefront in Old City, you can still enjoy their handcrafted chocolates, baked goods and even ice cream through their online shop.
For the eco-chic trendsetter:
Hamilton Perkins Collection — Hamilton Perkins M.B.A. ’14 is turning trash into treasure with sustainably made bags and accessories. Launched in 2016 through a successful Kickstarter campaign, the brand crafts stylish pieces from recycled plastic water bottles, reclaimed billboard vinyl and other upcycled materials.
For the person with great taste in art:
Good for the Bees — Zara Fina Stasi ’12, founder of Good for the Bees, brings vibrant, nature-inspired art to life. She’s returned to campus several times to share her work, painting murals in the Sadler Center and leading a collaborative mural at W&M Women’s Weekend. Explore her online shop or browse her partnerships with brands like Terrain, Madewell and Anthropologie.
For the fan who lives and breathes sports:
Kiya Tomlin — Kiya Winston Tomlin ’96 has come a long way since designing custom clothing for classmates at William & Mary. Today, she runs her own fashion label and creates sport-inspired collections — including her NFL line and the Coach T collection, a nod to her husband, Mike Tomlin ’95, L.H.D. ’08, head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
For the parent who loves a good brew:
Dad Strength Beer — Dad Strength Beer, founded by Ryan Kutscher ’02 and Craig Carey ’02, is a low-ABV brew made for backyard grilling, kid-wrangling and holiday hosting. Their “Shark Tank” pitch landed not one, not two, but a three-shark deal. You can now track down their cans at local markets such as Food Lion using the Beer Finder on their website.
For the friend who wants sweetness without the sugar:
Behave — Mayssa Chehata ’13 grew up in a “no sugar” household due to her father’s diabetes, which only fueled her love of candy. She later founded Behave, a line of better-for-you, low-sugar sweets. Their website offers a sample pack featuring both classic gummies and sour gummies, perfect for guilt-free snacking.
For the bespoke jewelry enthusiast:
Anna P. Jay — A geology major at William & Mary, Anna Jay ’15 now channels her love of stones into Anna P. Jay, her luxury jewelry brand known for distinctive, art-driven fine pieces. Explore her Nantucket studio or shop select pieces online.
