Following tradition, the William & Mary community welcomed the university’s newest students to campus and kicked off the 2024-2025 academic year with the Opening Convocation ceremony in the Wren Yard.
Cleveland "Cleve" Francis Jr. M.A. ’69, a celebrated cardiologist and accomplished musician, spoke to hundreds of new transfer, graduate and first-year students gathered. Francis encouraged W&M’s new students to find their calling.
