Serving Those Who Serve

W&M receives consistent recognition as a military friendly university

William & Mary’s dedicated efforts to create a supportive environment for military-connected students have earned the university recognition as a Gold-Level Military Friendly School for 2026–2027. The designation is the highest honor awarded by MilitaryFriendly.com.

The organization’s 2026–2027 survey also ranked W&M’s Raymond A. Mason School of Business as No. 1 in Military Friendly Graduate Education, and W&M Law School has a long history of recognition as a top graduate school in the survey.

In addition, U.S. News & World Report ranked W&M as No. 28 in Best Colleges for Veterans nationally in 2026.

William & Mary has more than 1,600 military-connected students across campus, including Army and Naval ROTC cadets and midshipmen. The university’s Office of Student Veteran Engagement provides a central hub for connecting military and veteran students and building a sense of community. In partnership with W&M’s Military & Veteran Affairs, the office coordinates initiatives across all schools and programs.

“As the Alma Mater of the Nation and the oldest public university, we consider it our mission to serve those who serve,” says Kathleen Jabs, special assistant to the president for military & veteran affairs. “Honoring their service means investing in their future and the future they help shape for our country.”
