By Claire De Lisle M.B.A. ’21

Each year, the William & Mary Alumni Association presents a series of awards to recognize those who go above and beyond in their service to William & Mary, their communities and their professions. Anyone can submit a nomination, and these endorsements are vital to ensuring deserving individuals throughout the W&M community are recognized for their achievements and service.

Please consider submitting nominations for the following awards, which are due April 1:

Alumni Medallion

The highest and most prestigious award given by the Alumni Association, the Alumni Medallion recognizes outstanding alumni for exemplary accomplishments in their professional life, demonstrated leadership in service to their communities, state or nation, and commitment, dedication and assistance to William & Mary. Alumni Service Awards

The Alumni Service Award and Young Alumni Service Awards are given on the basis of service, loyalty, commitment and leadership. Read about the 2024 winners.

Alumni Civic & Humanitarian Leadership Award

This recognizes alumni who are significantly improving or enhancing the lives of others. Nominees should demonstrate a strong history in three areas: dedicated service to humanity that exemplifies W&M values; meaningful, positive impact in their communities; and compassionate citizenship that advances the greater good. You may also wish to nominate someone who does not have a degree from William & Mary for honorary alumni status. These nominations are due on Dec. 15.

In your nomination materials, please describe the person’s visible and consistent involvement, loyalty, and affection for W&M, e.g., active participation, generosity, leadership, financial assistance, prominent advocacy and counsel.
