Nominees for the W&M Alumni Association Board of Directors

The W&M Alumni Association Board of Directors consists of 25 elected alumni members who serve up to two consecutive three-year terms. Members meet to review and evaluate alumni programs, manage funds, establish policies and recommend initiatives to advance the institution through alumni engagement and advocacy.

Fill out your ballot now. Approve the recommended slate of nominees by Feb. 7, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. All undergraduate, graduate and honorary degreed alumni are eligible to submit a ballot, regardless of donor status.

The Bylaws of the William & Mary Alumni Association require all board members to be alumni of William & Mary and active donors, regardless of giving levels, to any recognized fund of the university. By board policy, members must be willing and able to attend regular and special board meetings, as required, in Williamsburg or other approved locales to conduct Alumni Association business.  Read more about the board and its responsibilities.

PETER “PETE” W. ASHOOH ’79, P ’13 I STAFFORD, VIRGINIA

While at William & Mary, Pete was a member of Pi Lamda Phi fraternity, competed on the AAU karate team and helped found the security escort service. Upon graduation, Pete joined the FBI and became a special agent. He investigated the mafia and other organized crime groups and was a responder to the Pentagon on 9/11. He worked in counterterrorism and undercover, traveling to dozens of foreign countries until his retirement in 2014. He recently published a book, “Chasing Shadows,” about his experiences. Pete also held externships at the FBI for W&M students.

He and his wife, Wini, have three sons (one of whom is a 2013 W&M alumnus) and two grandkids. He is a member of the W&M Asian/Pacific Islander/Middle Eastern Alumni Advisory Board.

EVELYN “EVIE” ALBERTSON BOZZUTI ’93 I CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA

Evie graduated from William & Mary with an accounting degree and held leadership positions for the Wayne F. Gibbs Accounting Society and her sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma. She began her career in public accounting in Richmond, Virginia, at Ernst & Young, then went on to an advertising agency and GE Financial Assurance (now Genworth).

She and her family then relocated to Seattle, Washington, where she devoted time to raising her two girls while staying engaged through volunteer work on school and parish finance committees. Evie helped grow the W&M Alumni Association’s Seattle network, hosting various events and introducing the Yule Log tradition to the Pacific Northwest. She has since returned to professional practice on a part-time basis, offering accounting and reporting services to several Seattle-based small businesses remotely.

MATTHEW “MATT” S. FINE ’94 I GAMBRILLS, MARYLAND

Matt is a cyber and strategic risk specialist leader at Deloitte & Touche LLC, within the Risk & Financial Advisory and Government & Public Sector areas. Prior to joining Deloitte, Matt served nearly 23 years as a supervisory special agent at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, leading some of the institution’s most technical programs. Matt also served as a U.S. Army infantry officer, assigned to the 101st Airborne Division.

Matt is a native of Burke, Virginia. He was the Alumni Association’s Philadelphia network president from 2002-2006. He currently serves as the vice president of the Association of 1775, the W&M Alumni Association’s network for military, veterans and members of the federal government.

WILLIS H. GEE JR. ’99 I HAMDEN, CONNECTICUT

Willis is the global chief information officer at Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he is responsible for the overall technology and digital strategy. He previously held senior executive leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies, including Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and Chubb Ltd.

Willis received his bachelor’s degree in biological psychology from W&M, a Master of Health
Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Master of Science in information systems from Drexel University and a doctorate in global public health from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. He is an active board member for the Boys & Girls Club of America (Hartford) and the Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program. He joined the W&M Alumni Association board in 2021 and serves on the Finance & Investment and Engagement Strategy Committees.

JENNIFER “JENNY” TATNALL MCLEOD ’81 I RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA

Jenny graduated from William & Mary with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. She was captain of the women’s swimming team and has been inducted into the William & Mary Athletics Hall of Fame. She was a recipient of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan award and member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Her husband is fellow W&M swimmer Ed McLeod ’80.

Jenny worked in computer science at several companies. She then managed one of the most successful residential real estate offices in the Raleigh, North Carolina, area and currently works alongside her daughter, Amy. She has been active in the various churches served by her husband and served on the board of a local low-income housing community.

LEE POWELL ’74, M.B.A. ’81 I RICHMOND, VIRGINIA

Lee built a career leading corporate teams with AMF Companies and Capital One, focusing on business growth and performance turnarounds in the USA, the UK and India. A first-generation college student, Lee earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from William & Mary, where he was involved in the performing arts, Lambda Chi Alpha and men’s gymnastics.

Lee has remained closely connected to W&M as a lead class ambassador since 2005 and a member of the Class of 1974 Traditions Weekend Planning Committee. Lee currently represents his class on the Olde Guarde Council as co-chair and also as chair of its College Relations Committee.

SHANNON L. WATSON ’89 I ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA

Shannon has enjoyed an exciting career in public service and legislative affairs and is currently senior advisor for policy for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. She graduated from William & Mary with a B.A. in government, then earned an M.A. in social and public policy from Georgetown University. While at W&M, she served as Yates Hall’s representative to the Student Association Council and as vice president of her sophomore class.

On the William & Mary Libraries Board, Shannon chaired the nominating committee. She is a past president of the W&M Alumni Association’s D.C. Metro alumni network, a class ambassador and served on the ’89 Class Gift and Reunion Committees. Active in her community, Shannon is a trustee of the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria.

JOHN WINDT ’89 I VIENNA, VIRGINIA

John is an instructional assistant in the special education department at a high school. He spent 24 years in the healthcare industry, first with Zeneca Pharmaceuticals and the last 18 with Gilead Sciences, working in roles of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing.

John is currently a member of the W&M Alumni Association Board and serves on the Engagement Strategy and Recognition & Outreach Committees. He was a member of the New York City Alumni Chapter Board in the 1990s, serving as vice president and president of the chapter. He also spent seven years on the Annual Giving Board, including as vice chair and chair. He is a lead class ambassador for the Class of 1989.
