The William & Mary Healthy Beginnings Project (WMHBP) has received a $12,000, one-year grant from the March of Dimes to offer Baby Basics Moms Clubs to pregnant, incarcerated women.
William & Mary was once again counted among the top “green” colleges in the country, according to a report released in April by the Princeton Review.
Several awards are presented annually to graduates, staff and faculty members during the William & Mary Commencement ceremony in May.
Beth Comstock ’82, former vice chair of General Electric, will speak at William & Mary’s 2019 Opening Convocation ceremony. The annual tradition, which takes place the first day of classes, serves to mark the beginning of the academic year and to welcome to university’s newest students to campus. The event, scheduled for 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 28 in the Wren Yard, is free and open to the public.
The annual event, started three years ago, seeks to celebrate the accomplishments of William & Mary’s students of color.
